Atraco 0-4 Ivory Coast

Five-time winners, Nigeria and Ivory Coast continued their preparations for the African Youth Championship with victories over Rwandan premier league clubs this week.

Nigeria defeated SC Kiyovu 2-1 at Remera artificial turf. The struggling local giants were using this match to assess their new signings ahead of the start of the league second round, which starts February 9.

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles were tuning up ahead of their clash against South Africa’s Amajita Stars on Monday in group B.

But the game that attracted a large section of Rwandan football fans was the one that billed Ivory Coast against Rwanda’s league champions, Atraco.

Atraco, without their influential players like custodian Jean Luc Ndayishimiye, Johnson Bagoole, Kalisa Kase to mention but a few were beaten 4-0.

The taxi-men side face El Merreikh in the preliminary round of the Caf Champions league away in Khartoum in the weekend of January 31-February 1.

Meanwhile, the Flying Eagles were expected to wind up its preparations with a clash against nine-time local league champions, APR yesterday at Remera artificial turf.
