‘Mwana wa Mama’, Jay Pac’s second album is a heartfelt dedication to everyone who has dear people that always feel like home.
The eight-track album comprises songs like ‘Story’, ‘Cashing Out’, ‘Mwana Wa Mama’, ‘Never Going Back’, ‘ Drip and Hustle’, ‘ Inigi’, ‘ ROD’, ‘ Inzira’.
The singer worked with Kina Beat who produced all the tracks on the tape. The producer also inspired the album’s title as he used to call the artiste 'Mwana Wa Mama'.
"One day I was in studio and I started to break down the word " Mwana Wa Mama” it somehow hit me that it’s special when you call someone Mwana Wa Mama. This is because it means that the person you call that is like family and it is what way I call people close to me, "Mwana Wa Mama.”
He noted that ‘Ikamba’ is his favorite song specifically the line where he sings " Ikamba riri Kumutwe” because his daughter’s name is 'Ikamba' which means a crown.
"My daughter is my best-friend, I call her my twin sometimes. As you can see in the video, her energy explains it all.
"If you have someone you love and they love you back, no matter what they will always have their back, then you can call them "Mwana Wa Mama”, he said.
The album can be streamed on all music platforms and he has so far released the video of the song.
The intro of the album, portrays pictures of hope through his journey as a young boy coming up in this industry. The hustle and the struggle that made him who he is today.
The singer is also a co-host of a weekly podcast
‘Feed Your Focus’ which started in 2015, in USA by Jay Pac working with artistes Mabuye, Survivor B.O.G, Jokeri. The podcast talks about different topics, mostly music.
