Atraco’s winger Joseph Kabagambe is in line for a new one-year deal to keep him at the club through next season.

Kabagambe’s two-year contract with Atraco expired last month and negotiations for a new deal are set to be concluded this week.

Atraco vice president, Issa Ngenzi refuted recent reports linking the Ugandan winger with a move away from the club, saying that both parties are negotiating a new deal that would keep him at the club until the end of 2007/8 season.

"We heard that he had signed for a Ugandan top club, but that is not true because he is already in the country to finalize his new contract talks,” Ngenzi said.

It was reported recently in Uganda’s media, that Kabagambe was in talks with both Express and new league entrants Nalubale over a possible switch to feature in Uganda’s Super league that gets underway on October 15.

Kabagambe also refuted these reports saying that he wanted to stay with Atraco for as long as the club needs him.

"If I had signed for any of those clubs in Uganda, I would not have returned back to Kigali for Atraco. That is not true, I’m here to sign a new contract,” Kabagambe said.

Ruremesha joins Atraco
Meanwhile, Kibuye Fc coach Emmanuel Ruremesha has agreed a two-year contract with the taxi-men.

Ruremesha will act as assistant coach to Capt. Jean Marie Ntagwabira who was given the club on interim basis after Sam Ssimbwa was sacked.
Issa said, "Everything has been finalized with Ruremesha to assist Ntagwabira for next two seasons.”

New signings
Atraco are reportedly to be on the move of signing seven players who were axed by rivals APR Fc last week.

The seven include: Vincent Kayizi, Andre Lomami, Manfred Kizito, Alimansi Kadogo, Yousuf Kayihura, Shaka Okello and Jean Shyaka.
Other players include Kibuye pair, Peter Kagabo, Charles Kawuma and Kiyovu ruthless defender, Donatien Tuyizere.

Rayon to refund Atraco
In a related development, Rayon are set to refund Atraco a confidential fee paid to defender Olivier Uwingabire in their bid of luring him into staying with the Blues.

Atraco paid Uwingabire an undisclosed sum late last month as away of luring him to accept a deal with the taxi-men club but after the latter declared to feature for Rayon Sport, the blues are working around the clock to refund that fee before the end of this week.

"Uwingabire is our player and he has made it clear to the club. We have then accepted to refund back the money to Atraco before the end of this week

"Like any human being, Uwingabire was lured to take the fee and he pocketed it but that does not mean he signed for them,” Rayon legal advisor, Claver Zitony said.

AS-Kigali keeper for Atraco
Meanwhile, HAMZA NKUUTU adds that AS-Kigali and Amavubi Stars goalkeeper Eric Ndayishimiye commonly referred to as Bakame is on the blink of joining Atraco Fc.

Talks between the league giants and the 19-year old who is fresh from a two-week training tour of Germany with the U-18 side are reached advanced, club insiders have confirmed.

Bakame is one of the promising young shot-stoppers in the country and Atraco have turned to him to fill the void left after the sacking of Morgan Ojok, Rashid Muhimpundu and Muhamoud Mossi.

Currently, Capt Jean Marie Ntagwabira’s side have just only senior keeper, Charles Hakizimana on their books and are ready to offer a suitable deal for the young and able Bakame.

Sirengo arrives Oct. 15
Kenyan striker Mark Sirengo is expected in the country on October 15 for talks about a possible move to Atraco from Kenyan side Mumias Sugar.
If the deal materializes, the speedy forward who can also play as attacking midfielder will be having his second spell in Rwandan club football after a short-lived one with APR Fc during the 2004/5 campaign.
