Bruce Melodie's hit song 'When She's Around (Funga Macho)' featuring Jamaican reggae legend Shaggy has debuted at the 8th position on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart, making it the second Afrobeats song on the chart behind ‘Water’ by Tyla.

The World Digital Song Sales chart is a weekly record chart that ranks how songs was sold on different digital music selling platforms.

The song was released on October 27, 2023, and also debuted at 20th on the Billboard US Afrobeats Chart.

Bruce Melodie, whose real name is Itahiwacu Bruce, achieved this milestone just a week after performing on Good Morning America, a prominent morning show that has featured renowned musicians like Asake, Rihanna, and Davido.

He is the first Rwandan musician to ever feature on any Billboard chart.

Currently working on his upcoming album 'Sample' set to be released in May, Bruce continues his media tour in the United States, promoting his recent release 'When She's Around' and his music in general.

The World Digital Song Sales chart (formerly World Digital Songs) is a weekly record chart compiled by Nielsen SoundScan and published by Billboard magazine.

Established in 2010 its first issue was dated January 23 as one of 21 genre-specific song charts launched by Billboard that year, it originally ranked the 25 best-selling digital singles in the World Music genre, but was reduced to 15 entries in November 2021, and then 10 entries, effective the issue dated October 28, 2023.

The current number-one song on the chart, as of the issue dated March 26, 2024, is ‘Water’ by Tyla.
