In a momentous graduation ceremony hosted at Olympic Hotel on March 22, Century Park Hotel and Residences received esteemed recognition for its exceptional contribution to job creation and economic empowerment in Rwanda.
The prestigious award, presented by KETHA (Kigali Excellent Tourism and Hospitality Academy) in collaboration with the City of Kigali, marks a significant milestone in Century Park's ongoing commitment to fostering growth and opportunity in the country's workforce.
The event, which served as a celebration of academic achievement and professional growth, highlighted Century Park's unwavering dedication to providing sustainable livelihoods and promoting inclusive development. As graduates embarked on new chapters in their lives, Century Park's steadfast commitment to empowering individuals through meaningful employment opportunities stood as a beacon of inspiration.
Century Park Hotel and Residences, renowned as a premier hospitality establishment in Rwanda, has long been dedicated to nurturing talent and fostering a skilled workforce. Through its comprehensive training programmes and employment opportunities, Century Park has not only created numerous jobs but also equipped graduates with the skills and support necessary to thrive in the hospitality sector.
During the ceremony, Alphonse Habimana, the Managing Director of Kigali Excellent Tourism and Hospitality Academy (KETHA) and the representative from the City of Kigali, commended Century Park for its outstanding commitment to workforce development and economic empowerment. He emphasised the importance of private-sector partnerships in driving economic growth and applauded Century Park's exemplary practices in creating opportunities for professional advancement.
Emmy Nshimiye, the Human Resources and Administration Manager of Century Park Hotel and Residences, said they do this by receiving interns who only have theoretical skills and train them by giving them practical skills applied in Hospitality.
"We do not do this with KETHA only; we receive students from different universities and hospitality academies and this award is coming as an encouragement factor. We are going to have more training and development programmes to Rwandan students,” Nshimiye said.
The prestigious award bestowed upon Century Park Hotel and Residences underscores the critical role of the private sector in advancing Rwanda's economic agenda and fostering sustainable development. By investing in human capital and creating avenues for career growth, Century Park has emerged as a catalyst for positive change in the hospitality industry, setting a high standard for corporate social responsibility and community engagement.
This is not the first award given to Century Park Hotel and Residences. In January 2024, it was also awarded by a Dubai-based hospitality management company, Aleph Hospitality, for its activities that had positive impact on the community for the year 2023.
As Rwanda continues to position itself as a hub for tourism and investment, initiatives such as KETHA's recognition programme serve as a testament to the transformative power of collaboration and innovation. Century Park Hotel and Residences' receipt of this esteemed award reaffirms its status as a trailblazer in Rwanda’s hospitality sector and underscores its commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of Rwandans.
In conclusion, Century Park Hotel and Residences' recognition is a testament to its unwavering dedication to excellence and its profound impact on Rwanda's workforce development. As it continues to empower individuals and drive economic growth, Century Park sets a standard of excellence for the hospitality industry, embodying the spirit of progress and opportunity in Rwanda.
