Bruce Melodie debuts on Good Morning America
Rwanda’s top musician Bruce Melodie on Monday, March 18, took the stage on ‘Good Morning America’ (GMA) show to perform his latest hit song "When She Is Around” remix that features reggae icon Shaggy.
During the TV stint, the Rwandan vocalist, alongside Shaggy, put on an electrifying show at the special planet fitness concert series by GMA.
Good Morning America has featured some of the biggest artistes alive including Rihanna, Tylor Swift, Asake, Davido and many others.
Producer Element takes his sound to Kenya, announces project with Wizkid
Last week, producer Element, who has already made a big name for himself locally, left Kigali for Nairobi to expand his market to Kenya.
The 24-year-old singer and producer toured different radio and tv stations of Nairobi, promoting his previous projects and revealing the next move of his music career.
The producer also announced that has had unreleased projects with some of the biggest musicians on the continent including Bayani, DJ Neptune and Wizkid.
The youngster joined the music industry in 2020, after signing with Country Records and later joined 1:55AM in 2023.
Gen Z show celebrates two-year-anniversary in style
Gen Z comedy show, a brainchild of local stand-up comedian Fally Merci, celebrated its two-year anniversary with a mega concert that attracted thousands of Rwandan comedy fans.
Held on March 21, at the Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village’s biggest tent, the anniversary show was headlined by some of the biggest comedy stars of the region including Salvado and Dr Hillary Okello.
It was during the show that Rwandan comedian and journalist Arthur Nkusi announced that he is expecting a baby with his wife Fiona Mutesi.
Bruce the 1st finally drops "Bwe Bwe Bwe”
On March 19, Bruce the 1st finally dropped "Bwe Bwe Bwe”, a joint collabo with his long-time collaborators like Ish Kevin, Kenny Kshot and Bulldog, produced in the old school hip hop of 90s and early 2000s.
The song started making rounds early this month when Ish Kevin dropped a snippet of his verse on the song, a move that attracted much attention on the song until it’s official release date.
Produced by a new kid on the block known as Juni Quickly, Bwe Bwe Bwe is the first among many other songs produced in the old school hip hop that the young rappers of Rwanda are working on to "save hip hop” in the country.
It also made Bruce The 1st the cover of African hip hop playlist of Audiomack.
