It is more than a week since we entered a New Year and it is only wise for you to replace that old calendar with a current one. If you are still passionate about this ancient piece of stationery then I suggest you cut the days off and keep the pictures. Go and buy a calendar for 2009 or lobby for one from the big companies around town or government agencies.

If indeed you tried calling me and did not get through I am sorry. But have you thought about the fact that it was a problem with the MTN or Rwandatel guys, not me? Why are you now spending your little airtime grilling me about things I have no control over? And now that you have finally got through to me, can we get straight to business instead of wasting more time.

Ok sir, it’s very nice to know that you just ate some red meat this afternoon. But do I also need to know that you did not have enough and are now trying your luck on some sorry piece of wood? If you are done cleaning your teeth, it is time to throw the toothpick away.   

…try to cheat foreigners by abruptly inflating prices.

I did not know that there was also a price to pay for not being Rwandan enough, especially if a person has observed the way one speaks or does not speak Kinyarwanda. If by God’s grace I am of a lighter complexion than most Rwandans it’s not my own making. This is not reason enough for you to sell me a chapatti at Rwf600 while others are paying Rwf 200 for the same water and flour. 

…talk about English premiership football in the first person

Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool, I do not really care which of them you support. I am simply tired of hearing you talk about these foreign clubs in the first person speech form. I am tired of you saying,

"I am going to buy Didier Drogba and bring him to play alongside...” Who are you? Have you forgotten that you are simply a supporter, a Rwandan and a peasant at that? Why not save this passion for your national team.
