Patriots 73-59 APR
American point guard William Perry scored 24 points to inspire Patriots to a less expected 73-59 win over defending champions APR in a Rwanda Basketball League (RBL) game that took place on Wednesday, March 20.
Held at Lycée de Kigali Gymnasium, the game attracted hundreds of fans who filled the venue to full capacity.

In attendance also was the president of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) Amadou Gallo Fall and NBA legend Rick Fox.
The Patriots had a bright start to the game, winning the first quarter 19-9 but APR fought back to win the second one 20-9. The first half ended 29-28 in favour of the army side.
Back in the second half, under the leadership of the ferocious and deft Perry, the Patriots regrouped and put up a fierce offensive game that saw them gain control, winning the third quarter 26-18 and the last one 19-12.

Perry scored 24 points in the 36 minutes he played. He added 11 rebounds and three assists. Patriots’ forwards Dieudonné Ndizeye and Steven Hagumintwari scored 24 and 18 points respectively.
The Patriots are now topping the table with 14 points, while APR is second with 13 points.
