Barry Ndengeyingoma.

Barry Ndengeyingoma a.k.a Ndengeye is a very prominent businessman in Kigali. The 41-year-old is an accomplished businessman, who joined Rwanda’s business industry at the tender age of 18. He owns several nightclubs, fitness clubs and beauty centres in Europe.

Ndengeye also owns outlets of art collections, designer shops and gift shops around Europe.

Ndengeye’s weekends start on Friday evenings when he drops whatever has been occupying him in order to enjoy himself. Just like any trendy and fashion conscious man, Ndengeye loves dressing casually on weekends.

He also loves refined hangouts his favourite being Hotel Novotel where he usually dines with his fiancé or friends when he is in the country.

Unlike in Europe where he usually wakes up around 10a.m on weekends, Ndengeye says that he doesn’t remember spending that long in bed whenever he is in Rwanda despite the fact that on weekends he sleeps as late as 4a.m.

I really don’t know why I cannot sleep for long whenever I’m here. By 7a.m, I will already be bored of bed, and will definitely jump out, have a cold shower and get ready for my breakfast.

Like some other people, Ndengeye also admits that sometimes weekends in Kigali might be a little boring. And with this complaint, he sometimes escapes the city to the rural areas.

Whenever I have enough time, I go to Gisenyi for weekends, because I love the area’s beautiful sceneries and nature, which is charming and lovely.

Naturally I enjoy boat-riding. So, whenever I’m in Gisenyi, I hardly miss out boat riding at the lake. It helps me to relax my mind.

I enjoy Sundays, because that’s when I spend enough time resting in my house and planning my private projects. Unlike some other people, Ndengeye confesses not to be the type who spends a lot of time trying to schedule their future programmes.

I do not limit myself on particular things, or programmes. I only do something because I feel it’s necessary and urgent to me. I am always prepared and I do things my way, because I believe in myself.

Ndengeye says some of the things that help him relax also include: Clubbing and going out with close friends and his lover.
