The final of the annual peace Cup will not be played on July 4 as has been the tradition in the past editions. Instead, the final for this year’s tournament is scheduled for August 8.
According to Rwanda Football Association-Ferwafa, the decision was taken to allow the Rwandan champions, Rayon Sports prepare and represent the country at the upcoming CECAFA Kagame Cup – slated for June 29 to July 13 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Rayon Sports are drawn in Group B alongside Kenyan champions Gor Mahia, Burundian champions Lydia Ludic and Somalia’s Ports.
Following the changes, the Peace Cup quarter-finals will be played between July 19 and 24 while the semi-finals clashes are set for August 2-5.
The finale will be played on August 8 where the winner will book automatic ticket to represent Rwanda at the 2019 CAF Confederation Cup.
