Rwanda has been placed in Group A of the upcoming FIBA 3x3 U-17 Africa Cup, alongside Botswana, Egypt and Madagascar.
The tournament will unfold in Cairo, Egypt from December 3-4, and it will bring together teams from different countries on the continent.
In the boys’ category, the 8 teams that will participate are pooled in 2 Groups.
Group A comprises Rwanda, Madagascar, Egypt and Botswana, while Group B is made up of Kenya, Tunisia, Democratic Republic of the Congo and Morocco.
In the girls’ category, Rwanda is up against Egypt, Tunisia, and Madagascar in Group A, while Group B comprises Kenya, Benin, Democratic Republic of Congo and Morocco.
This is the second edition of the U17 Africa Cup. The inaugural edition took place in 2019 and was won by Egypt in the boys’ category.
The North African country will want to prove they are the continent's best team at an event they dominated three years ago.
In the women's, defending champs Egypt will have their sights on topping Pool A, and recover from the tough time at the World Cup this year.
