Dear Editor,
I once again visited your country for the third time due to my desire to identify with your historical pains and also your monumental triumphs in overcoming them.
I have read quite a lot of opinions expressed by different people concerning the unfortunate events of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
As a Kenyan, I have struggled since then to understand the magnitude of the issues that arose from these horrifying events and with which, daily, the people of Rwanda have individually struggled against, ever since.
Definitely, it is not quite possible that I shall ever fully understand these issues in their starkness, but I thank God for your writer UNA MUKANDHOLI because, from her article I am one step closer.
Never have I ever read this story of the Genocide so expressively and clearly as I did in UNA’s article. What courage, what grace and what faith, you people of Rwanda have shown the rest of us?
How indeed God must be proud of your efforts to put your humanity in such clarity!
Indeed it is true what my father calmly said to me before I traveled to Kigali this third time, that Christ Himself came down in Rwanda to recreate with His own Hands this beautiful land of a thousand enchanted hills and mystical mountains.
God bless you, People of Rwanda, and give you peace in your time, and the Grace to move continuously on in His Presence.
