Guaranty Trust Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility programs focuses strategically on four major pillars which includes Education, Community Development, Arts and the Environment. These are guided by the belief that they are essential building blocks for the development of communities and prerequisites for economic growth. The Bank recognizes the importance of quality education and aims to ensure that young people do not stop learning, through creating a conducive learning environment for their development.
In line with the Government of Rwanda’s National ICT policy, the Bank donated computers to Association Ecole Mere du Verbe school as they are vital tools in enhancing learning and education. Association Ecole Mere du Verbe school is a catholic primary and nursery school located in Remera, Kigali. The school was founded in 1997 by the late father Missuracca in order to help vulnerable children after the genocide against the Tutsi in 1994. The school currently has 486 students.
Staff of the Bank spent the afternoon interacting with both students and teachers and emphasizing the importance of education to the students.
