Uwayezu is new FERWAFA General Secretary

The Rwanda Football Federation – FERWAFA – has appointed François Regis Uwayezu as the new Secretary General.
The local football governing body confirmed the development on Tuesday afternoon.
According to a statement released by Ferwafa, Uwayezu said he will use his youthfulness and passion for football to "work together with the Executive Committee and other stakeholders to develop Rwandan football.”
While announcing the development, Ferwafa President Brig. General (Rtd) Jean Damascene Sekamana welcomed the new secretary general before highlighting that "His expertise in the administration and management, as well his football knowledge and experience will be a great asset.”
At the time of the appointment, Uwayezu was serving as the Director of Administration and Finance at Rwanda Academy of Language and Culture, an affiliated Institution to the Ministry of Sports and Culture. He had held the position since 2012.
Prior to joining Rwanda Academy of Language and Culture, Uwayezu worked as the Government Internal Auditor at the Ministry of Internal Security in 2011.
Apart from finance and administrative roles, Uwayezu possesses vast experience in Rwandan football, especially in coaching.
He holds several coaching course certificates including the Certificate of International Football Coaching course (DFB C-License and the UEFA B-Level) earned from Germany in 2010.
In 2010, he won the Copa Coca-Cola U17 National youth football championships Cup as Assistant coach of APR Football Academy.
