Last week, all the children in Kimironko sector, gathered at Casabonita Hall to celebrate the New Year. During the celebrations they met the leaders of their sector, cells and villages as well as the Children leaders who represent them at the Children’s National Summit. The event was colourful with lots of entertainment from the children.

These handsome twins are Calvin Ngabo and Caleb Nziza. They are seven years old. They love singing because it makes them happy. They send their greetings to Dad, Mum and all their friends.

This is five year old Carl Manzi. He says he loves dancing and singing and the celebrations made him so happy. He sends his greetings to everyone.

Patricia Muhoro explains the importance of the event. This event is important because it brings together all the children in Kimironko to meet the leaders they voted for.

During such functions children talk about ways of helping needy children and orphans by visiting them ad sharing with them.

This is 10 year old Patience Gahozo. She is a song leader in their dance group from Inyamibga village. She loves singing and says children should make Rwanda a better place to live in so that when foreigners visit they leave with good memories of the country. We should remember our past and always strive to make today and the future better.

This pretty young girl is Kellia Isaro. She is 9 years old and a dancer in the traditional dance group from Inyamibga village. She loves dancing and spending time with her friends. She sends her greetings to Mum, Dad, sisters and all her aunties and uncles.

This is 17 year old Asuma Ngabire. She is the Kimironko Children’s President. She said that together with her committee, they try solve problems that affect children.

In 2009, they will continue to help orphans, the poor and street children. She advised all children to fight against Aids and to study hard because education is important.
