Rayon Sports defender Hakim Bugingo and midfielder Roger Kanamugire are keen to impress coach Frank Torsten Spittler after handing them first international call ups in his 38-man squad preparing for the forthcoming FIFA international friendlies against Madagascar and Botswana.
The duo is among a host of new faces making up the team that the German summoned to start a training camp at La Palisse Hotel Nyamata as a reward to their impressive performances during the second round of the Primus National League.
The team has since Monday, March 11, been training twice at Kigali Pele Stadium.

"I am delighted to have been named in the Amavubi squad. It is a real honor and I’m looking forward to the experience and working hard to be in the final team. I just want to take things one step at a time,” Bugingo said.
Bugingo and Kanamugire have been in fine form under new head coach Julien Mette and Spittler believes they can produce the same or an even better performance into the national team.
For Kanamugire, "the call-up will certainly be a great learning experience. I just want to make the most of every opportunity I am given to better my game.”
Both friendly fixtures will take place in Madagascar between March 18 and March 26.
Spittler will be using the upcoming friendly games as part of his preparations for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho in June.
