RWANDA senior men’s national cricket team has embarked on intensive preparations ahead of the Regional World Top T20 qualifiers scheduled for July 7-14 at Gahanga oval in Kigali.

The daily training sessions and residential camp are under the guidance of newly appointed head coach Martin Sugi, a former Kenya international cricketer.

The regional tournament will be contested by three countries namely; Uganda, Kenya and hosts Rwanda.

Earlier this week, Rwanda Cricket Federation (RCA) released a 21-player provisional list to kick-off training before the Kenyan technician selects the best 16 to make the final squad.

The 5th cricket memorial tournament is meant to pay tribute to the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, where over one million people lost their lives in just a hundred days.
