Iran does not have any military facilities in Syria and was not involved in Wednesday's attack against Israel, Abolfazl Hassan Beigi, a member of Iranian parliament's commission on security and foreign policy, told Sputnik on Thursday, emphasizing that it was Syria that fired rockets at Golan Heights in response to numerous attacks by the Israeli Forces on the country. Early on Thursday, the Israeli Air Force hit dozens of Iranian targets in Syria after the Iranian forces allegedly fired 20 rockets at IDF positions in Golan Heights. "Iran has no military presence in Syria, no bases. Israel is lying. It was Syria that conducted strikes yesterday in response to the repeated attacks on the country. Israel must realize that the situation has changed and aggression would not go unanswered," Beigi said.
