The Rwandan stand has scooped a silver award at Africa’s Travel Indaba, a premier tourism exhibition held annually in South Africa.
Indaba is one of the largest tourism marketing events on the African calendar and one of the top three ‘must visit’ events of its kind on the global calendar.
Rwanda, through Rwanda Development Board, was featuring in the pan-African exhibition for the third time and it came after South Africa, which got a platinum award while Namibia scooped gold.
Staged in Durban, Africa’s Travel Indaba is owned by South African Tourism and organized by Synergy Business Events (Pty) Ltd.
"The event is a great opportunity for countries to interact with travel agents from all over the worlds, tourists and potential investors,” said Rwanda’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Vincent Karega.
The 2018 edition was held from 8-10 May.
