MOSCOW, May 9 (Sputnik) - Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed with permanent members of the Russian Security Council the latest developments in Syria, including the Israeli strikes on a number of Syrian facilities, ahead of the talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, acting presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.

"During the meeting, the sides touched upon the situation in Syria, including night air strikes inflicted by Israel. A detailed exchange of views on this issue took place in the light of the upcoming talks between Vladimir Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,” Peskov said ​.
