Azam Rwanda Premier League sides Etincelles and Marines are set for a nail-biting clash when the two Rubavu-based sides square off this afternoon at Umuganda stadium.

While Emmanuel Ruremesha’s Etincelles are pushing for a top four finish this season, a win for Marines will see them move into a decent 9th place from eleventh.

Should hosts Etincelles win today, they will move into two points within fourth-placed Kiyovu while a win for Yves Rwasamanzi’s side will move their tally to 25 points, one point adrift of eighth-placed Sunrise.

"We have the quality and ability to get the three points. We are determined to get this highest possible finish this season,” Ruremesha told Times Sport.

But he warned,"Marines are a good team with good players, we need to be vigilant and avoid unnecessary mistakes.”

In a separate interview, Marines head coach Rwasamanzi noted, "Despite having crowded league fixtures, we have prepared for this particular game in the best way possible and we hope to collect all the points on Tuesday. It’s a derby and it’s always difficult but we are ready for whatever it takes.”
