Dear Aunt Silvia,
I am a young man who has gone through a lot in the past year. I lost my child and wife in the delivery process and shortly thereafter I was sacked from my job. I got a new job recently which I will report to early January.
Even though it’s less than eight months since I lost my wife and kid, I want my life to continue by getting myself another wife and to start another family. I am afraid what people will say about the whole thing. Please advice
Kelly.
Dear Kelly,
The New year has come and hopefully with a new beginning and exciting things. It is unfortunate how you lost your wife and child, but remember; that whatever happens, life must continue.
Different people have different time frames for grieving, and one can only decide to move forward when they are ready to. If you feel that you are ready to start a new year with a new beginning after such a great loss, then go ahead.
You are just as lucky to have come out of that situation with peace of mind. Many people get haunted for a long time. As you already know life is full of twists and turns, I can assure you that each one of us has a story to tell.
With this coming new year I want to encourage you to start the New Year with a positive attitude and work hard for a better future.
Outline your New Year resolutions, just make sure they reflect on the positive side and don’t make promises which you can’t keep. Let those who want to say; say whatever they want.
At the end of the day, they will go to sleep having forgotten what happened during the day. Whatever happened to your family is not your fault.
You should therefore not carry the guilt for the rest of your life. Live your life to the fullest. Otherwise, I wish you well in the coming year and good luck in finding a new partner.
