The Youth Association for Human Rights Promotion and Development (AJPRODHO-JIJUKIRWA) has elected a new leadership for the next two years.
The elections, held this week at Alpha Palace Hotel, coincided with the 10th anniversary of the association’s celebrations.
The NGO elected Emmanuel Nzeyimana, the Coordinator of Rural Sector Support Project (RSSP) in the Ministry of Agriculture as its new president. Seven other people were also elected to various posts.
The outgoing president, Ronald Nkusi, said that the association had, since its inception, sensitised over 100,000 people on how to prevent their rights from being violated.
He urged youth to avoid anything that might lead them to violate human rights.
