Champions Rayon face Kirehe seeking to go on top

Defending champions Rayon Sports will visit Kirehe today for an Azam Rwanda Premier League clash at Nyakarambi grounds looking for nothing less than a win to go on top of the table.

Ivan Minneart’s team is in third place with 34 points, one behind leaders AS Kigali and a win will take them on top of the table with 37 points, ahead of AS Kigali who will face Gicumbi on Wednesday

"We will go into the game looking for nothing less than a win and we believe we can achieve our target. We have to do better and stick to our game plan which will guarantee us the points against Kirehe,” said Minneart

Elsewhere, Police will host Musanze at Kicukiro Stadium and a win will move them from sixth place to fifth place with one point ahead of Etincelles.

In other matches Kirehe will face Bugesera, while Mukura will take on Amagaju in the Southern Province derby. Action will continue on Wednesday with Gicumbi playing against AS Kigali, Espoir facing Marines, while Etincelles will entertain with Sunrise.

Meanwhile, midfielder, Robert Ndahitamana and right back Djuma Niyonkuru have been suspended indefinitely by Bugesera due to indiscipline case.

AS Kigali now lead the Rwanda Premier League standings with 35 points, APR FC are second with 34 points, followed by Rayon Sports.
