KAMPALA - Burundi proved too strong for Djibouti whom they thumped 4-0 last evening in a Group B match played at Bugembe stadium in the on-going Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup.

The Burundi team that failed to make it to the next round of the 2010 World Cup/ Africa Nations Cup qualifying campaign completely out played the Djibouti team and should have won by a bigger margin.

Eric Gatoto gave the Burundians the lead in the 6th minute before getting his name on the score sheet again in the 58th minute.

Claude Nahimana also picked a brace with goals in the second half.

In the earlier game, Kenya’s Harambee Stars drew 0-0 with Zambia. It was Kenya’s second barren draw after their opening game against defending champions Sudan that ended in similar fashion. Group B will most likely go to the wire to get which teams qualify for the semifinals.

The GTV sponsored tournament will climax on January 13 with the finals at Mandela national stadium, Namboole. The winners will pocket US$300,000, runner-up US$20,000 and the third placed US$10,000.
