Mbonyi to tour East Africa
After a small break of nearly three months, gospel singer Israel Mbonyi is back and has already announced his first East African tour that will kick off in Kampala in August, this year.
The development comes a few days after the gospel music star announced that he is returning to Europe for a major concert scheduled to take place In Brussels, Belgium.
Mbonyi’s East African tour will kick off in Kampala, Uganda on August 23, and continues to Swahili speaking nations.
DJ Sonia thrills Kampala-based fans during Women’s Day show
Sonia, one of Rwanda’s leading female disc jockeys, put up a light show at an International Women’s Day show that took place at Nomad bar in Kampala, Uganda.
Dubbed ‘Take Over Friday’, the event was hosted by socialite Sheilla Gashumba, and attracted hundreds of music lovers and celebrities based in Kampala city.
This is the second time the DJ played in Kampala, following her 2023 show that attracted hundreds of Rwandan music lovers.
Cyusa to celebrate five years of musical journey in concert
Ibrahim Cyusa, one of Rwanda's biggest 'gakondo' musicians, is celebrating five years of musical journey with a major concert scheduled for June 8.
The event, dubbed 'Migabo Live Concert', follows some of Cyusa's successful shows around the world, including his just-concluded show in Newcastle on February 24.
According to the artiste, the event will feature performances from different big names in Rwanda’s music industry who will be communicated soon.
Tyla cancels world tour amid health concerns
South African female artiste Tyla, who rose to stardom after performing in Kigali during Giants of Africa Festival, has cancelled her maiden music tour and Coachella appearance amid health concerns.
The ‘Water’ hit maker announced the bad news on Thursday via Instagram, citing a ‘longstanding injury that has worsened over time’ as the reason behind the cancellation of her first world tour.
The female star unveiled that she has been silently suffering with an injury that has tragically worsened which is the reason behind the cancellation of his maiden tour.
The string of concerts would've included dates in cities including Paris, London, Seattle, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Boston, Toronto and more before wrapping in Minneapolis on May 28.
The South African singer rose to prominence last year after dropping 'Water', her most streamed song that reached number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned her a Grammy for Best African Music Performance.
