Etincelles Vs Rayon Sports 3:30pm

Etincelles FC will be hoping to set one foot in the quarterfinals of the Peace Cup for the first time in nine years by defeating Rayon Sports this afternoon at Umuganda Stadium.

The match was initially supposed to take place early this month but was postponed due to Rayon Sports’ participation in the CAF Confederation Cup. The second leg will take place on May 23.

The winner of both legs will play against Marines in the quarterfinals on June 5.

Etincelles head coach Emmanuel Ruremesha, who has previously coached Rayon Sports, says his team is motivated by a slot in the quarterfinals and has warned his players to respect their opponents but not fear them.

"It doesn’t come any harder than this, but we have had good preparations and all the players are in a good shape. We’re not just going to turn up, we need to win the game to put ourselves in a good position for the return leg,” Ruremesha said.

Other quarterfinal matches will pit Police FC against APR FC, Bugesera FC against Sunrise FC, while Mukura Victory Sports will be up against Amagaju FC.

On top of winning a trophy and getting the ticket to represent the country in the Confederation Cup, the Peace Cup winners will also walk away with Rwf10m.

The runners up get Rwf5m while the third team gets Rwf3m
