Organized by Amahoro Boxing and Fitness Club, the boxing competition was first held in June 2023 bringing together local elite boxers to show their best of boxing in various categories.

A total of eight fights were lined up ahead of Sunday’s boxing event. They include four in the amateur category, one in the women&039;s category, and three in semi-professionals category.

For the amateurs, each match will be played into three rounds, with each round taking three minutes and a one-minute break in between.

The semi-professionals, on the other hand, will go for six rounds, with three minutes per round and a one-minute break after each round.

The women's match will be played in two rounds, with two minutes per round and a one-minute break each.

According to Guy Rurangayire, the brains behind the event, the essence of this competition is to improve boxing awareness in Rwanda as well as to encourage young athletes to embrace and practice the sport.
