President Paul Kagame on Friday, March 8, hosted a cocktail at Kigali Convention Centre in honour of members of Ntare School Old Boys Association (NSOBA), who are in Kigali for the finals of the Ntare Lions League (NLL) football tournament.
The League finale, taking place for the first time outside Uganda, "comes ahead of the opening of Ntare School in Rwanda which is set to start operating this year,” the President’s office posted on X.

President Paul Kagame and Uganda’s Yoweri Museveni are old boys and patrons of the school in Mbarara District, in western Uganda. Kagame attended Ntare School from 1972 to 1976 while Museveni was there much earlier in the 1960s.
According to a statement by the organisers, Ntare School Old Boys Association (NSOBA), the event in Kigali marks a significant milestone as it brings together more than 500 former Ntare School students from Rwanda and Uganda for a weekend of football, cricket, rugby, and golf, in a spirit of camaraderie and cultural exchange.
