UNITED Generation Basketball (UGB) will be hoping they can pull off a rare win against rivals APR when the two sides face-off on Friday at Amahoro indoor stadium.

After twelve games played, youthful UGB are seventh on the eight-team league table with 15 points, from three victories and nine losses respectively.

UGB coach Yves Murenzi acknowledges the odds are against his side but added that his players are in good shape and will do everything possible for a positive result.

"This has not been one of our best seasons, no one at the club is satisfied with our performance but we are doing all we can to bounce back. We are facing APR this Friday, our target is to put up a strong fight and win the game.” Murenzi said.

On the other hand, seven-time champions APR are challenging for a top four finish and a spot in the play-off games this season, and won’t be taking any chances according to coach Aime Karim Nkusi.

"Every game at this particular stage of the title race matters, we can’t underestimate any opponent. Players are fit and determined,” Nkusi said.
