UNAMID commemorates Genocide against the Tutsi

African Union-United Nations Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID) peacekeepers on April 7 commemorated the International Day of Reflection on the Genocide Against the Tutsi in Rwanda with a ceremony at the Missionu2019s headquarters in El Fasher, North, Sudan The event, attended by the Missionu2019s Force Commander, Lt Gen Leonard Ngondi, included a march by various contingents serving under UNAMID. Rwanda, which maintains a peacekeeping contingent in Darfur, is observing a weeklong official commemoration of the Genocide, which claimed over a million of its citizens. Photo/Marong Lamin.
