Rwanda women beach volleyball team lost 2-0 to Vanuatu in their second match yesterday at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Queensland, Australia.

Denise Mutatsimpundu and Charlotte Nzayisenga, who are representing Rwanda at the Games, lost the first set 21-15 and 21-10.

Meanwhile, tens of thousands of people watching the Commonwealth Games held a minute of silence to honour of the victims of the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi before the Rwandan team took on New Zealand in beach volleyball, their first game.

Rwanda lost 2-0 (14-21 and 16-21) to New Zealand.

Their third match in group C is against Singapore on Monday.
