Record third successive win
Rwanda’s U-20 side, the Junior Wasps cruised to their third successive win in Tunisia after Saturday’s 2-1 win over Le Bizerte, a top division club. It was by far the toughest game for the youngsters who are on a one-month training camp in the North African nation.
With wins over La Marsa and ES Beni-Khalled, the junior wasp opened high on confidence when Yussuf Ndayishimiye powered the team ahead.
Le Bizerte quickly leveled but Rwanda’s inspirational Ernest Kwizera crowned an excellent team display with the winning goal.
Kwizera, who also netted the team’s lone goal in their 1-0 win over ES Beni-Khalled, is now the team’s leading goal scorer with two goals in three games.
The result was very timely for Tomislav Obradovic and his youngsters who will now clash with some of Tunisia’s top clubs like 1991 African Club Champions ‘Club Africain’, Etoile du Sahel and Esperance.
Saturday’s result has maintained Rwanda’s impressive run in their build-up to next month’s African Youth Championships in Kigali.
