As the Christian community the world over marked the birth of Christ with jubilancy and celebrations, the Bishop of Shira Diocese, Rt, Rev.Bishop John Rucyahana has said that it is time to celebrate the year’s achievements and lessons people have learnt.
‘It should be a package celebration, for those who remember the work of redemption hence recognize the birth of Christ but the most important issue lies in distinguishing economic and social achievements in our lives’, Rucyahana said while delivering the Christmas message to the Christians.
Bishop Rucyahana called upon Christians to understand their surroundings and urged them to use the biblical values to fight moral decay especially corruption by being accountable for their actions.
Vestin Murekatete, from restoration church believes that the festive season should mean a deeper understanding of our selves and destiny by renewing our commitment to God.
In the sermons the faithfuls were challenged to set high working standards , as one of their New Year’s resolutions because according to the bible, those who don’t work should not be allowed to eat.
Rucyahana, said that the believers, should have hope while being able to stand against any derogation from any where and as a people making a single nation-state they should never surrender to the enemies lest they become enslaved.
