Rwanda’s  mega church, Zion Temple in Gatenga, Kicukiro District, has announced that it will soon set up a bank.
This was revealed Thursday by the head of the church, Pastor Paul Gitwaza.

"Starting next year, we want to see all members move from one step to the next. They will improve their livelihood by having shares in the bank we intend to open soon,” Gitwaza told his excited congregation.

According to the information on its website, the church intends to open what it called Authentic Banking S.A, in Kigali. In the same gathering, pastor Gitwaza also announced the church’s plan to create a data base that will include information needed for all Zion Temple members.

"The church needs excellence. If one is asked how many people have been prayed for and healed of certain diseases or couples reconciled, or poor people helped, we can not satisfactory answer because we don’t have statistics.

But if we had our data base we would refer to it for such information to help identify what the church has achieved,” he explained.

"We are moving from the technology age to information age, the church needs excellence in whatever it does,” Gitwaza added.

Paul Gitwaza is the founder of Authentic Word Ministries under which Zion Temple church was formed in 1996 in Kigali, Rwanda before opening several sister churches in Burundi, Canada, China, Congo, France, Haiti, Tanzania, UK, USA Belgium and Denmark.
