The cabinet meeting chaired by President Paul Kagame Wednesday expressed satisfaction on the decision by a French Court to modify the bail conditions of the Director of State Protocol, Rose Kabuye so that she could come back to Rwanda.

According to the minutes of the meeting, the Minister of Justice and Attorney General Tharcisse Karugarama told his colleagues that French court authorities decided to allow her to leave France to Rwanda for the end of year festivities and would return to France on the court’s summons.

Rose Kabuye arrived in Kigali on Wednesday afternoon accompanied by her husband and children aboard Ethiopian Airlines and was welcomed by a large cheerful crowd.

"Cabinet hailed all concerned bodies for their careful monitoring of the case and expressed satisfaction over this decision,” states the minutes of the cabinet meeting.

Kabuye was arrested at the airport of Frankfurt as a result of controversial indictments issued by French judge Jean Louis Bruguière in November 2006 issued against her and eight other government officials. She is expected to return to Paris for her initial hearing on January 10.
