Defending champions Gisagara VC on Saturday defeated rivals University of Tourism Technology and Business Studies (UTB) 3-1 to remain in the top spot on the national volleyball league table.
Gisagara beat UTB and IPRC-South 3-1 and 3-0, respectively, in Huye District, while REG beat Kigali Volleyball Club (KVC) and Kirehe 3-0 and 3-0 at Club Rafiki in Nyamiramba.
At Ngoma, in Eastern Province, former champions, University of Kibungo (UNIK) beat hosts IPRC-East 3-1 before losing to APR 3-1, while APR also overcame IPRC-East 3-0.
Unbeaten Gisagara top the table standings with 28 points from ten matches, four points ahead of second-placed UTB. Rwanda Energy Group (REG) are in third position with 23 points, while APR complete the top four with 21 points.
Gisagara are preparing to participate in the Men’s African Club Championships, which will be held from March 27 to April 5 at Ahly Club Halls Cairo, Egypt.
