Liquid Telecom yesterday donated Rwf10 million to an organisation that works with blind children in Kigali, Jordan Foundation.
The telecom company provides data, voice and Internet Protocol telephony (IP) in eastern, central and southern Africa, supplying fibre optic, satellite and international carrier services to mobile networks, Internet Service Providers (ISP) and business of all sizes.
The company started its operations in Rwanda in 2013.
Jordan Foundation was started by Vanessa Bahati who wanted to extend her love for blind handicapped children after she had a blind child. The organisation is located at Gihogwa in Jali Sector, Gasabo District.
Bahati said the donation will be used to purchase a plot of land for the construction of a school for blind children.
Sam Nkusi, the Group executive, said they picked interest in donating to the organisation after reading a touching story in The New Times about Jordan Foundation.
"We know all people have their challenges but challenges concerning life need immediate response. And we found that we can have a way to respond immediately and thank Bahati for her heroism,” said Nkusi.
