Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) Volleyball Club will face Prisons of Kenya in the quarter-finals of the ongoing Africa Women Club Championships in Cairo, Egypt on Monday.
Dorcus Ndasaba’s RRA defeated Nkumba University of Uganda in straight sets 3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-19) to qualify to the last eight, finishing second behind hosts Ahly in Group A.
Prisons progressed from Group D was qualify after beat Injs from Cameroon 3-0, (25-16, 25-17 and 25-14). It will be the first meeting between RRA Prisons. In 2016, in Tunisia, RRA lost 3-0 to another Kenyan side, Pipeline.
Pipeline topped Pool C after they beat FAP of Cameroon 3-0 (25-12, 25-16, and 25-16).
Egypt’s El Shams ultimately confirmed their qualification to the quarterfinals with a win in final pool C against Congo’s DGSP 3-0 (25-9, 25-9, and 25-17) to finish second behind Pipeline.
Chlef of Algeria beat Botswana’s BDF 6 3-1 (21-25, 29-27, 25-21, 25-14). Both sides did not progress to the quarterfinals but it was a very valuable point for Chlef as they finished on 3rd in Pool B..
