RE: "Belgian lawmakers have finally read through Genocide deniers’ game” (The New Times, February 23).

I really feel that the Belgian authorities will be careful how they handle matters related to the Genocide against the Tutsi because history points to them being chief architects of the divisive ideology in Rwanda that culminated into the ordeal. So trying to show any bias in favour of the Genocide perpetrators would clearly show that their apologies were never genuine in the first place.

Relatives of the perpetrators should never influence a legislative process in a nation that understands the implication of undermining the delivery of justice in circumstances of a crime of a huge magnitude such as the genocide (crime against all humanity).

If they went ahead, in my opinion, Rwanda should consider a legal and political response.
