National volleyball league defending champions Gisagara defeated University of Kibungo (UNIK) and Kigali Volleyball Club (KVC) on Sunday to go three points clear at the top of the table.

National volleyball league defending champions Gisagara defeated University of Kibungo (UNIK) and Kigali Volleyball Club (KVC) on Sunday to go three points clear at the top of the table.
Gisagara beat KVC and UNIK 3-0 and 3-0 respectively amassing 17 points at the summit, three ahead of University of Tourism Technology and Business Studies (UTB), who won 3-1 over APR on Saturday before losing to Rwanda Energy Group (REG) 3-2 while APR beat REG 3-2.
In the other matches played on Sunday, UNIK beat KVC 3-1 while IPRC-East overcame IPRC-South 3-0. IPRC-South also lost 3-0 to Kirehe before Kirehe lost to IPRC-East 3-0.
UTB are second on the table with 14 points, REG follow with 12 points while APR complete top four with 11 points.
In the women category, APR beat Kigali Volleyball Club and IPRC-Kigali 3-0 while holders Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) defeated Ruhango 3-0 before Ruhango beat St Aloys 3-0.
APR top the table with 11 points followed by Ruhango with 9 points while RRA are third with 6 points, IPRC-Kigali are in fourth place with 3 points.
