Kigali CC won the toss and decided to bat first making 126 runs all out in 20 overs. Dhaval Gohel was top performer for Kigali CC scoring 33 runs off 29 balls.
In reply, Challengers put on 129 runs for 3 wickets in 17.5 overs. Team captain Srinath Vardhinene contributed 2 overs, 3 wickets in 8 runs while batsman Zaid Khan was named man of the match with 43 runs off 32 balls.
After the game, Srinath commended his teammates saying "It was nice to start with a win more especially beating the defending Champions.”
In the other second Division1 game played in the afternoon, Indorwa Cricket Club beat Rights Guards by 2 wickets. The Guards CC made 87 all out while Indorwa had 91 runs for 8 wickets all out in 19.1overs.
In the Division II games held at IPRC-Kigali, Kutchi Tigers overcame Vikings Cricket Club by 43 runs.
The Tigers made 169 runs for 7 wickets all out in 20 overs while Vikings CC made 126 runs for 8 all out in 20 overs.
The second game saw Spartans Cricket Club beating Tamil Lions by 5 wickets.
The female category V.R.NAIDU T20 Games will kick off this weekend with all eight teams divided into two divisions. Clouds are the defending champions in the female category.
