RWANDA Energy Group (REG) will be keen on keeping their unbeaten run in the ongoing Heroes Day Basketball Tournament when they take on IPRC-South on Saturday at Amahoro Indoor Stadium.
The league defending champions, REG, have won two games so far, against APR and Espoir and will be eyeing a third victory before Sunday’s last game against their biggest rivals Patriots.
Star centre Kami Kabange, power-forward Bienvenu Ngandu and shooting guard Benjamin Mukengerwa are the front weapons for Cyrille Kalima’s REG while IPRC-South charge will be led by their captain Bienvenu Niyonsaba and Fabrice Rukundo.
The men’s category of the showpiece attracted five league sides namely; REG, Patriots, IPRC-South, Espoir and APR, all playing against each other on a round-robin basis and the best of them will be crowned to succeed defending champions IPRC-Kigali, who did not take part.
In women’s category, favourites APR will be up against winless U-18 National Team at 1pm while IPRC-South face last year’s finalists The Hoops Rwanda, at 3pm.
