Visitors of the website will be tasked to filter through over 3,500 projects that have been nominated alongside Rwanda Cricket stadium. This is the 9th consecutive year the awards are taking place.
"It's a great honor for the Rwandan Cricket fraternity to have the place we call home nominated for such a prestigious award...it's the kind of design whose profundity cant be fully captured in pictures" said Eddie M. Balaba, the President of Rwanda Cricket Association.
ArchDaily's 2018 Building of the Year Awards will be decided by their readers with readers tasked to recognise and vote the projects that they think are making an impact to societies around the world.

Inaugurated in October 2017, the construction of Rwanda Cricket Stadium was overseen by the Rwanda Cricket Stadium Foundation (RCSF), an NGO that is registered both in Rwanda and the UK.
RCSF patrons include former UK Prime Minister David Cameron and West Indies cricket great, Brian Lara.
