Rwanda lost by 276 runs against Uganda, 330runs against Kenya and 242 runs against Tanzania.
The first timers’ however got a consolation from their wicketkeeper Vestine Byukusenge who picked up the best wicketkeeper award.
The team manager Emmanuel Byiringiro has however insisted that there are some positives to carry from the tournament.
"It was very important for the girls to get this exposure. Playing on the grass wicket and getting used to playing 40 overs came in very handy,” he said. Meanwhile, Uganda held onto the regional title after edging Kenya by 10 runs in the final.
Kenya started well by dismissing the defending champions for a paltry score of 94. However, spectacular fielding and bowling from the Ugandans made sure that Kenya could only post 84 runs.
