Rayon Sports striker Prince Rudasingwa had to be rushed to hospital following horror collision with Musanze FC’s Anicet Muhire during Friday’s Primus National League clash at Kigali Pelé Stadium.

The incident happened in the 86th minute of the match in which the Blues lost 1-0 at home to Musanze FC.

Rudasingwa needed lengthy treatment on the pitch after a nasty collision which left him unconscious. He had to be stretched off in the 90th minute before being taken to hospital.

He is expected to have a scan on the coming days to ascertain the gravity of the injury and whether he will undergo surgery.

Meanwhile, Muhire was also needed medical treatment after the incident, but he returned to the pitch.

Musanze put up a solid performance as they completed a double over Rayon with a 1-0 win at Kigali Pele Stadium thanks to a 72nd minute goal from Pacifique Tuyisenge. The first leg encounter also ended 1-0 in favor of the Musanze-based side.

Despite the defeat, Rayon are still second on the table with 42 points, a point ahead of Musanze FC who are still third with 41 points.

Friday’s defeat put Blues’ title hopes into serious jeopardy as they trail four points off table leaders APR FC who also have two games in hand.
