APR FC are in advanced talks with their former player left-winger Jean Claude Iranzi, now with Zambian league side Zesco United, according APR secretary general, Adolphe Kalisa.

Rwanda international Iranzi joined Zesco United last August from MFK Topolcany, a third division football league side in Slovakia, on a two-year contract.

Speaking to Times Sport on Wednesday, Kalisa confirmed discussions with Zesco United because Iranzi still has 18 months left on his contract.

"Iranzi is not a free agent, he’s still contracted to Zesco United whom we’re in talks with and hopefully, they will let him come back (to APR),” said Kalisa.

He added that, "He is not the only player we are talking to, there are others like you already know, one of them being Migi (Jean Baptiste Mugiraneza), for him, the discussions are in final stages.”

"We hope to sign both players—Iranzi is in the country and training with us but for Mugiraneza, we expect him to join soon. If talks go well, we expect to have the two players before the Heroes’ Day Cup (scheduled for January 23 to February 1),” he disclosed.

In a separate interview, Iranzi admitted that, "Right now, I’m a Zesco United player but discussions between two clubs are ongoing after that I will know where to play this month, but I love APR and would love to come back and play here.”

"I had some issues with missing documents to join Zesco from Slovakia but that was sorted, I’m a Zesco player and I really have to wait for what comes from the talks between the two clubs (APR and Zesco United,” the 27-year-old said after training with APR on Wednesday.

Record 16-time league champions, APR FC have also been linked with AS Kigali attacking midfielder Dominique Savio Nshuti but the secretary general Kalisa could neither confirm nor deny those reports.

Jimmy Mulisa’s team are third in the Azam Rwanda Premier League with 17 points, three points behind leaders SC Kiyovu after ten rounds of matches.
