Rwanda face Sudan on Saturday in a warm-up match in the Tunisian city of Sousse as the two teams step up their preparations for the upcoming 2018 Africa Nation’s Championship (CHAN) finals that will be held in Morocco from January 12 to February 4.

Amavubi, currently in Tunisia for a ten-day training camp, will face another fellow CHAN finalists, Namibia, on Sunday, in Jamal ahead of the continental showpiece. Antoine Hey’s the team is camping at El Mouradi Club Kantaoui in Sousse where they leave to connect to Morocco, on January 12.

The team started training on Wednesday at El Mouradi training facility. "It has been good preparations for us; the players are fighting hard to be in the starting team for CHAN. I am impressed with how they are responding,” Hey told the reporters on Thursday.

Hey added that, "This is a good opportunity to get the players together on the training pitch and to build on previous work. We will give each player the chance to play in these warm-up matches.”

"We are going to meet a very good team (Sudan). I know they will give us hard time but this game will help us to continue our preparations and see our level before the tournament,” noted the German tactician.

Rwanda and Sudan have played seven games between them in all competitions where both sides managed two wins apiece and drawn three times.

After Sunday’s game against Nambia, Amavubi, will on Monday, have two training sessions and one session on Tuesday at El Mouradi training facility before moving to Tunis on Wednesday for the match against Algeria.

Afterwards, the team will depart for Tanger via Casablanca for the finals competition. Rwanda will slug it out against Libya, Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea in Group C.

Group B, which is the closest thing to the group of death, comprises Ivory Coast, Zambia, Uganda and Namibia; they will play the group matches in Marrakech.

Group A in Casablanca, includes; hosts Morocco, Sudan, Mauritania and Guinea, while Group D has Angola, Cameroon, Burkina Faso and Congo Brazzaville, the games will be staged in Agadir.

CHAN is a competition which gathers players featuring exclusively in their respective national championships.
