Dear editor,

I am a Christian but I have learnt something unique about the Muslim community that I think fellow Christians should emulate as well.

During their fasting season and towards Idd celebrations, Muslims always remember the needy. They offer food, clothing and generally try hard to help the needy.

I therefore urge Christians to emulate Muslims. During the Christmas festive season many Christians think of so many things that will make their day.

Some go for heavy shopping; others concentrate on prayers while many go to visit their families so that they can have a great time. All this is good but we should remember our brothers and sisters who are suffering.

I would therefore like to thank the First Lady, Jeannette Kagame, for celebrating with orphans at one of the Christmas parties recently. We should all do the same because this way, we help other people understand the meaning of Jesus Christ’s birth.
