Rayon Sports have surprisingly included AS Kigali attacking midfielder Dominique Savio Nshuti and Amagaju FC forward Hussein ‘Tchabalala’ Shaban in their squad for next year’s CAF Champions League.
Nshuti has informed AS Kigali that he wants to terminate his contract on grounds that the Azam Rwanda Premier League side failed to honour the contract terms.
Rwanda international Nshuti wants AS Kigali release him from the three-year contract that he signed less than seven months ago.
The 20-year old former Isonga FC attacking midfielder only joined AS Kigali in June on a free transfer after Rayon Sports allowed his contract to run out. It is reported that the City of Kigali-sponsored team paid him a sign-on fee of Rwf16 million.
Meanwhile, Shaban, who has also been linked with league leaders SC Kiyovu, remains in Amagaju’s plans, the club said.
The duo is among the players that the reigning league champions have expressed interest in signing during the January transfer window that opens today.
Also, on the list that Rayon Sports sent to FERWAFA are two players from DR Congo, including Dieu Merci and Ismaira Diarra as well as Chitoshi Mukuma from Zambian side Napsa Stars.
Rayon Sports’ secretary general Bernard Itangishaka, confirmed that, "We have a small squad and are looking to sign four to five players in January, we need to strengthen the team if we want to do well in all competitions that we are in.”
"We need some new faces but we are not yet at a point where we can announce anything yet. But I can confirm that talks with Savio, Tchabalala and others are ongoing and soon we shall give our fans the good news,” he noted.
Rayon Sports have made it clear that need to strength the team this month as they seek to reach into group stages at CAF Champions League.
